Ibrahim Medical College, named after Late National Prof. Md. Ibrahim, the legendry medical scientist, teacher, physician and social reformer is a non-profit institution of the Diabetic Association of Bangladesh established in the year 2002.
Since its inception, The Diabetic Association has been playing an important role in developing human resources for health in Bangladesh.
BIRDEM Hospital, the 600 bedded multidisciplinary Hospital Complex of the Diabetic Association of Bangladesh has been recognized nationally and internationally as a centre of excellence for medical services and research. Bangladesh Institute of Research and Rehabilitation for Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders (BIRDEM) has been designated as WHO Collaborating Centre on Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders, only of its kind in Asia. BIRDEM Academy now conducts the second highest number of postgraduate medical courses in the country.
To maintain the reputation of BIRDEM in the field of higher education and research and to remain in the forefront of health care services, technology and education, the National Council of the Diabetic Association of Bangladesh established Ibrahim Medical College with a vision to develop it as a trend setter Institute, so as to demonstrate a high standard of under- graduate education in Medicine, so badly needed in the country.

• Permission by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Govt of the Peoples' Republic of Bangladesh Affiliation by the University of Dhaka
• Recognition by the Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BM&DC).
• Listing in International Medical Education Directory (IMED), FAIMER, USA, which will enable our graduates to appear at ECFMG and other entrance examinations abroad.

- The college offers 5 years' MBBS Course as approved by Bangladesh Medical & Dental Council (BM&DC) leading to MBBS degree of the University of Dhaka.
